This policy explains what personal information MonaShort collects, how we use it and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, display name and profile picture, and basic Google profile information if you sign in with Google.
- Purchases: your orders, membership, credit balance and unlocks. Card details are handled by Stripe and never stored by us.
- Viewing activity: what you watch, your progress in each episode, your favorites and your watch history.
- Device and security data: IP address, browser and device type, sign-in sessions and the signals used to block automated abuse.
- Messages: what you send us when you contact support or request a refund.
- Promotion code use: when you use a promotion code (such as MS-K7Q2P9) or its link, we record the code, the time, the platform (website, iPhone or Android), the country or region of your language setting, a hashed form of your network address, a hashed form of your device or browser identifier and, if you are signed in, your account. If you create an account within 30 days of first using a code, that sign-up is credited to the code. Promotion partners see only totals for their codes, never who you are.
- Usage analytics, only if you turn it on: the pages you visit and how you use the website, linked to a random identifier.
How we use it
- to run the service: sign you in, play videos, remember your progress and apply your purchases;
- to process payments and refunds, and to calculate creator earnings, which partly depend on viewing activity;
- to keep MonaShort secure and to prevent fraud and abuse;
- to send service emails such as sign-in codes, receipts and important account notices;
- to understand and improve the service with aggregated statistics such as view counts.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use third-party advertising trackers.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. When your account is deleted, your profile details are anonymized and signing in is turned off; order, payment and audit records are kept for as long as the law requires. Records of promotion code use and of the sign-ups credited to a code (with hashed forms of your email address, network address and device) are also kept after your account is deleted, to settle with promotion partners and to check for fraud.
Your choices and rights
You can review and update your profile in Account settings and request account deletion there. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to certain uses of it. Contact us to make a request; we may need to confirm your identity first.
International transfers
MonaShort serves viewers around the world, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Children
MonaShort isn't intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections, signed and time-limited video links and restricted access to personal data. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your sign-in details safe.
